Nefertiti Neck Lift

The Perfect Neckline with Nefertiti Neck Lift

Nefertiti Neck LiftAs we age, we develop imbalance of the muscles that pull on different parts of the facial and neck skin. This results in a less defined neckline and poorly looking jawline and jowl area. Nefertiti Neck Lift (Botox Neck Lift) is a non-surgical procedure of facial rejuvenation that can significantly improve the appearance of neckline, jawline, and the lower face. It is named after the ancient Egyptian queen Nefertiti.

If you have muscle imbalance in your neck and lower face with little skin redundancy, you are a good candidate of Nefertiti Neck Lift. You are not a good candidate if you have too much skin redundancy. Excessive skin redundancy usually requires surgical treatment which cannot be managed by a Botox Neck Lift.

The Nefertiti Neck Lift is done by injecting a neuromodulator, such as BOTX® or Dysport™ into the thin platysma muscle of the neck. Therefore, the procedure is called Botox Neck Lift. The Injections target the neckbands produced by overactivity of the platysma muscle. In many cases, injection is also done into the masseter muscle to reduce the square jaw angles. To achieve the best jawline tightening and definition, a dermal filler such as Juvederm may be injected into the jowl area to restore lost volume.

Injecting neuromodulators into the platysma relaxes the muscle. This eliminates the appearance of the ugly neckbands. It also allows the elevator muscles of the lower face to pull the skin of the lower face and cheeks upward. This restores muscle balance and defines the jawline, achieving the goals of the Nefertiti Neck Lift. Injecting a neuromodulator into a hyperactive masseter muscle reduces the muscle size and restores the feminine hear shape of the face.

If you have downturned mouth, this is a good time for treatment. Neuromodulators are injected into the muscle that lower the corners of the mouth. This muscle is called the depressor anguli oris. Care is taken not to inject neuromodulators into the depressor muscle of the mouth, the depressor labii oris muscle. If this muscle is injected, the patient may have an asymmetric smile.

As in any neuromodulator injection, results last only for four to six months. You will need to consult with the doctor every four months. You will need to have the BOTOX® or Dysport™ injected every four to six months as needed. However, the beautiful neck and jawline achieved by the Nefertiti Neck Life (Botox Neck Lift) are worth the effort and time.
